OOQ was invited to collaborate with the Contractor to lead the design consultants, to submit the Technical Tender for a Sportsground cum Basement Carpark Design in Yuen Long.

The design aims to enhance the community identity of Yuen Long by reflecting and respecting its cultural and historical significance. This involves incorporating elements that resonate with the local heritage, such as architectural styles and cultural landmarks. By transforming the Tung Tau industrial area into a vibrant residential and commercial hub, the project seeks to revitalize and energize the neighborhood. This transformation is intended to create a cohesive and dynamic community space that fosters a sense of belonging among residents.

The project focuses on re-provisioning and enhancing the existing sports playground into a welcoming, connected, and contemporary facility. This includes upgrading the infrastructure, adding new amenities, and improving accessibility to ensure that the playground meets the diverse needs of the community. The addition of a modern and intelligent carpark space aims to address the parking challenges in the area, providing a convenient and efficient solution for residents and visitors. Furthermore, the creation of a new and distinctive urban open space is designed to promote physical and mental health within the local community.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle and well-being is a central goal of the design. This involves creating spaces that encourage physical activity, such as jogging paths, sports facilities, and fitness zones. The project aims to provide a holistic environment that supports the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the community, ensuring that the space is not only functional but also enriching and nurturing for all users.
